The heating light will turn on. Wait 5-10 minutes for it to turn off. That’s how you know it’s ready.

18g of coffee at a pretty fine setting on the grinder. (There may be coffee in the freezer). Level it out using on the rubber pad on the counter, then tamp once. Make sure the coffee is nice and level!

Put a glass under the steamer wand and turn the steamer knob wand on (carefully!). At first water will come out. When you’re getting mostly steam, about 10 seconds later, you can turn it back off.

It should take 20-30 seconds to brew about 36g of espresso. You’ll want to switch the brew off at about the 34g mark.

While it’s still pretty wet, use the knock box to clear out most of the gunk. Then, without locking it back in, switch the brew back on and use the hot water to clean both sides of the portafilter. Switch brew and power off, and put everything back. Thank you for cleaning up!
